We do require your bank account and social security number. We will not process the application without this information.
When filling out the application, please put your permanent address. If you are selecting the overnight option, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the address you want it to shipped to. We are at least 15-20 days out on getting your card in the mail to you from the day we receive your application.
If you need your application processed within 48 hours we have an expedited option that is an additional charge of $20. This means that we will send your card via USPS within two business days. If you would like overnight delivery, it will be sent by FedEx for an additional fee of $50 plus the expedited fee of $20 for a total of $70. Please note, if you choose the overnight option, your card will get mailed out the next business day after we receive your application in our software. For the 48 hour processing, your card will go in the mail no later than two business days after we receive your application in our software. If you are wanting it overnighted, you will need to make sure you click on the instant bank verification process as the other two options take several days to verify.
For all our Canadian clients, Open Roads requires a US Bank Account with US Currency. The account will require a US Bank Routing Number (it will be 9 digits). The account must allow for ACH withdrawals from a US based Company. If you don't have a Social Security Number, you may use your Social Insurance Number.
Download our Open Roads App for iPhone or Android. On this app you will be able to see all your transactions, view all in-network locations, and real-time prices before you get to the pump. We guarantee all prices.
You can download it directly from the app store. Look up “Open Roads”.
Once you download, go to Sign-Up (not login) and create an 8 character password. Once that is complete, you will be logged in and can start using the app.
When you receive your card, you will need to register your card to the app to be able to see your transactions. Make sure to enter the entire card number, top and bottom rows, with the 4 digit pin you called and created when you got the card (not the last 4 of your social).
We will issue you an EFS card.
Once you have your card in hand, you're ready to start saving.
In order to use your Open Roads card, you will need to use the commercial truck lanes at the back of most locations.
Insert your EFS card into the fuel pump.
The pump will ask you a series of questions that you can either click "Yes" or "Skip" on. For example, the pump will ask if you would like to purchase DEF. You can either click yes or no then it will go to the next question.
A prompt will ask for specific information that verifies you as the owner. Once your code is entered, you're ready to fuel.
Within 2-5 business days you will receive an email from us showing you the complete details of the transaction. Transparency is important so you will see all the details of your transaction, including our fee.
Our fee is 10% of the savings per gallon for personal vehicles. For example, if the retail cost is $3.00 per gallon and our cost is $2.50 per gallon, our fee will be 5 cents per gallon, or 10% of the 50 cents your saved at the pump.
The Open Roads app will clearly show you all locations in our discount network. If you choose to fuel at a location that is not in-network, there will be a $1.00 per transaction fee charged.
There is a transaction fee of 40 or 65 cents depending on the specified fueling location. This fee is required by our fuel partners and goes directly to that specific fuel merchant, not Open Roads.
Your card is free, but if you should need an additional or replacement card, there is a cost of $5.00.
If we are unable to debit your account for payment due to insufficient funds available, there will be a $30 fee applied when we are able to clear the transaction. If we are unable to debit your account due to incorrect bank account information, there will be a $15 fee applied after we get the corrected information. These are bank fees that come directly from our bank. There will also be a 10 day hold on your card after we rerun it for payment before it will be turned back to active.
If someone you refer signs up, you will earn a $25 fuel credit after the first $500 in discounts received from that person.
To receive the referral credit, have the person enter your name in the "Referred By" field on the application. Make sure the person you referred puts the name down that we have on file for you to get that credit. For example, if your name is Anthony but you go by Tony, they need to put Anthony down on their application.

Due to recent world events beyond our control, we are experiencing historically rapid increases in the price of fuel. This means our Merchant Partners (fuel stops) are forced to change pricing faster than the data can be updated in our Fuel Pricing Logistics Systems. This causes the real-time price at the pump to be temporarily different from the price you are seeing in our App. The software will update and correct itself, but there could be a lag depending on when you fuel.
We are doing everything in our power to get you accurate pricing in a timely manner from our partners. Presently, our team is meeting with our fuel merchants, logistics partners, and programmers to minimize these price discrepancies. In the meantime, please verify the retail price at the pump before fueling to be sure you know exactly what to expect.
